As the title suggests, i'm ending a chapter and starting a new one in my life. Ever since i got back from being abroad in Germany, i've worked at Macy's (then Marshall Field's). More specifically i've worked at Macy's since Aug. '05 and worked at the Rochester, Eau Claire, and Southdale stores. This job has changed me in so many ways. It geared me towards the option of staying in retail/fashion for a career choice. It truly is the reason why i transferred to the U to pursue Retail Merchandising. I've also made so many friendships and networked with so many people through this job. But all good things must come to an end. As much as i loved my job, i just wasn't feeling completely satisfied at Macy's. So i interviewed at a few places, more specifically Len Druskin. I had my first interview there last month and it went really well, but it was during the holiday season so the availability of what they would have in the new year wasn't clear. So i just put it in the back of my mind not really worrying about it and just letting life take me where it goes. Then out of the blue, i get a call from Len Druskin wanting a second interview. So i took it, went in and interviewed with the Len Druskin and his daughter. It went extremely well and they called me the next day to offer me a position. This is what i need next in my life. I'm definitely excited to start there next week, but i'm also sad that i'm leaving Macy's and all of my friends i work with.
Change is tough, but i guess it has to happen. After all "fashion thrives on change, and change is the engine that fuels it". Thanks Macy's for everything that you have done for me. Len Druskin- can't wait to see where you will take me!
